Pamela Norris SmithPamela Norris Smith, 67, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Kingston Residence of Marion, Ohio.

She was born August 10, 1946, in Marion, Ohio, a daughter of the late Stewart Norris and Dorothea Tway Norris.

She was married August 14, 1971, to Howard N. Smith of Dayton, Ohio.

Pam graduated from Harding High School in 1964.  She received her BA in Early Childhood Education from Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan in 1968 and her Masters of Guidance and Counseling in 1970 from The Ohio State University.

Pam was the proud mother of two lovely daughters, Patricia Kozlik of Marion, Ohio, and Sarah Rassell also Marion, Ohio.

She taught several years in the Columbus School System at Sheppard Elementary School.  She moved to Marion in 1973 and taught several years in the River Valley School System at Martel Elementary School.

Pam was the guidance counselor at Marion Catholic High School from 1975 through 2006.  She was so very proud to be a part of this fine school and loved all her students and faculty.

Pam was an owner of the Wilson Bohannan Lock Company of Marion, Ohio, which was started in Brooklyn, New York, by her late great-great-grandfather, Wilson Bohannan in 1860.  Her grandfather, Wilson Tway, brought the company to Marion in 1927.  Her husband, Howard Smith, is the sixth generation managing the company and her two daughters and two son-in-laws work at Wilson Bohannan today.

She was a member of Twig II of Marion General Hospital.  She was a past member of Artisans Guild and a founder of Tinsel Tree Christmas Bazaar in the 1970’s.  She was a professional chauffeur for her two daughters for over fifteen years, driving them to swim meets all over the Midwest.  She loved playing cards like phase ten and bridge with her many friends.  She loved all sports and traveled extensively all over the world.

She is survived by many cousins and one grandson, Stewart “Little Buddy” Kozlik and two son-in-laws, Davin Kozlik and Daron Rassell of Marion, Ohio.

The family will receive friends on Thursday August 22, 2013, from 3 PM to 8 PM at the Boler Activity Center, 590 Forest Lawn Drive, Marion, Ohio.  Please bring thoughts of remembrance to be recorded.  Funeral services will be Friday, August 23, 2013, at 10:30 am at St. Mary Church, 251 North Main Street, Marion, Ohio with Father Thomas Buffer officiating.  Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery.

The family asks that everyone wear pink on Friday to show honor to Pam.
