Robert A Holloway, age 85, of Marion, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Heartland of Marion.
He was born on March 19, 1928 in Marion, OH to the late Clifford and Ruth (Beard) Holloway.
Robert married Phyllis Chapman on January 23, 1952 and she preceded him in death on February 8, 2013.
Robert proudly served his county in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Robert was a devoted golfer, loved to bowl with his wife, hunt and fish with his sons, and always enjoyed a family car ride in the county.
Robert will be missed by sons, Stewart J. Holloway of Marion, Bruce (Roxann) of La Rue; daughter, Judy Wilson of Marion; sister, Margerite Moon; brother-in-law, Melvin (Martha) Chapman; sister-in-laws, Bev Holloway, Jessie Holloway, Dorothy Thomas, and JeLaine Chapman; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by son, Bob Thompson, brothers, Willis “Bill”, George, and Harold “Ike,” and lifelong friends Bob and Phyllis Draught.
Friends may call from 10 to 11AM Monday, August 26, 2013 at The First Church of the Nazarene, 233 W Church St., Marion, OH, where services will be held at 11 AM with Pastor Steve deWeber officiating. Burial will follow at the Marion Cemetery where Military Honors will be presented by Marion County United Veterans Council.
