Keith L. McFannKeith L. McFann, age 69, of Marion, lost his battle with cancer Sunday morning, September 1, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

On February 20, 1944, Keith was born in Marion, the son of the late Ralph and Bessie McFann.

After graduating from Marion Harding High School in the Class of 1962, Keith married his high school sweetheart, Beth Holliday, and they were blessed with 51 years of marriage.

Keith enjoyed his work and was well-respected in the field of fire protection, involved in the areas of engineering, design, management and sales.  He started his engineering career at Fairfield Engineering, Marion.  He spent many years at Fire Protection & Sprinkler Associates, Marion, which later became Culligan Fire Protection.  Keith finished his career at VFP Fire Systems, Columbus.

Family was very important to Keith.  He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He loved boating and working on projects at home and in the yard.  He was an avid Toledo Christian fan, following his grandson’s sports and activities.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Beth McFann; daughter, Daphne (Rex) Sims of Maumee; son, Brent (Twana) McFann of Columbus; four grandsons: Jack, Grant, Luke and Mark Sims; brother, Marv (Sandy) McFann; half-brother, Ralph (Suzy) McFann; brother-in-law, Gary (Linda) Holliday; sister-in-law, Judi (Mike) Hughes; and many nieces and nephews.

Including his parents, Keith was preceded in death by his brother, Lowell “Dump” McFann.

His family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Friday, September 6th, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger& Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion.  Services honoring his life will also be held there on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Tim Miller officiating.  Burial will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Toledo Christian Schools, Hospice of Marion General Hospital, and Cornerstone Alliance Church, and they may be sent to the care of the funeral home.
