Charles L. Metz, age 82, of Marion passed away in his home on Monday, October 14, 2013 at 11:55 p.m.
He was born on March 1, 1931 in Kenton, Ohio to the late Leonard and Mary (Seaders) Metz.
Charles married the former Rosemary “Rosie” Hartley on December 29, 1950 in Marion, Ohio and she preceded him in death on January 6, 2003 in Marion.
He was a member of the Forest Lawn Presbyterian Church and was employed with Fairfield Engineering as a machinist for 41 years before his retirement in 1996.
The lifelong Marion resident is survived by a son; Roger (Jane) Metz of Marion, Oh., a daughter; Jerrie Metz of Delaware, Oh., an “adopted” daughter; Kathy Lieske of Delaware, Oh., 2 brothers; Talmyr (Margaret) Metz of Marion, Oh. & Terry (Becky) Metz of Delaware, Oh., 2 grandchildren; Toby (Jerlyn) Metz & Cora Metz, and 3 great grandchildren; Caleb, Easton, & Josie Metz.
Charles was preceded in death by a brother; Harold Eugene Metz.
Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Thursday, October 17, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. Rev. Joe Sopher will conduct the funeral service in the funeral home on Friday at 1:30 p.m. with burial to follow in the Marion Cemetery.
