Jean Elizabeth LeVeck passed away October 28, 2013 at 1:05 a.m. The youngest of seven, Jean was born March 24, 1928 to Jacob W. and Mabel C. (Lewis) Freshour in the home by Clark’s Bridge west of LaRue, Ohio.
August 19, 1951, in the Morral Baptist Church, Jean became the wife of John W. LeVeck. John passed away July 30, 1993. Jean graduated in 1946 from LaRue High School.
After a short business course in Wooster, Ohio, she worked for Galion Iron Works, Marion Power Shovel, Columbus Blank Book, and with thirty-three years in the payroll department at Tecumseh Products, retiring at the plant closing in 1984. She then worked five years, part time, at G.T.E.
Jean was a member of the Green Camp United Methodist Church. She also belonged to Pleasant, Prospect, Green Camp, and Marion Senior Centers where she enjoyed playing pinochle and euchre.
Together John and Jean raised two children in Big Island Township and they survive. Daughter; Joyce A. LeVeck and son; John R. (Kathy) LeVeck both of Marion. Granddaughter; Allison K. LeVeck and grandson; Alex R. LeVeck, four step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren, eight nieces and six nephews.
Besides Jean’s husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her six siblings and their spouse’s; Margaret (George) Brant, Lucille (Raymond) Coleman, Beulah (Maurice) Anewalt, Joe Stelmazewski, Boyd (Mae) Freshour, Clyde (Catherine) Freshour, Maxine (Zell) Owen.
Jean requested no calling hours. Graveside services will be held in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery and will be announced at a later date.
