Robert F. Ballinger, 87, of Marion

Robert Faye Ballinger age 87 of Marion, Ohio passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

He was born July 24, 1926 in Richwood, Ohio to the late Milburn K. and Florence E. (Middleton) Ballinger.

On January 24, 1943 he married Jean Viola (Huntsman) Ballinger, she preceded him in death on September 28, 2010 after 67 years of marriage.

Robert was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII, he was employed at McDaniel Auto for many years as a salesman.
He loved his family and children, he would call everyday to make sure everything was ok. Robert was an avid sports fan, loved NASCAR, Sprint Cars and Ohio State Football, he had many friends at Seton Square and will be remembered for telling his funny stories. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family.

He is survived by his children, Linda Ferguson of Marion, Oh., Robert (Joyce) Ballinger of Marion, Oh., Thomas (Debby) Ballinger of Marion, Oh., Danny Ballinger of Marion, Oh., Deborah Ball of Marysville, Oh., William Ballinger of Marion, Oh., Teresa Phillips of Marion, Oh., Nancy (Chris) Stewart of Marion, Oh., 25 grandchildren, 67 great, great-great and great great great grandchildren, three sisters, Louise Ferguson of NB., Pat (Ed) Randolph of TX., Kay (Dave) Snyder of Marion, Oh., and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ballinger, two sisters, Rita McGlothin, Shirley Birchfield and four grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Robert will be Friday, October 18, 2013 @ 11 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Rev. Brett Cornelius officiating. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery with the Marion County Veterans Council holding Military Services. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 5 – 8 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
