Shirley M. Hennen age 78 of Marion, Ohio, passed away Sunday October 20, 2013 at the Marion General Hospital.
She was born March 9, 1935 in Price, Ky. to the late Silas and Goldie (Newsome) Johnson.
On March 2, 1979 she married Paul D. Hennen and he preceded her in death.
Shirley was retired as a Corrections Officer with the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville, Ohio.
She is survived by a step-daughter, Clevia (John) Ostendorf, a step-son, Pete (Linda) Hennen, step-grandchildren, Syndy (Shawn) Lucas, John (Elana) Ostendorf, Betsy (Randy) Strine, Pat (Liz) Hennen, and Tammy, Kim, Tom and Billy Hennen. She also is survived by a sister, Janice Maniaci and she was a special aunt to special nieces and nephews; Sandy Johnson, John Johnson, Dewey (Lee) Johnson, Bill (Rita) Maniaci, Nicoletta Maniaci, Michael Maniaci, Tony (Tina) Maniaci, April Canterbury, James A. Houseworth,III, and Craig Kinney.
Besides her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by a son, Larry McGuire, step-son, Herbert Hennen, and two brothers, Dewey and Howard Johnson.
Funeral Services will be On Thursday October 24, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Barkley Slone. Burial will follow in the Chapel Heights Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday October 23, from 5 to 8 P.M.
