Joyce Anne Augenstein Ramsey was born December 15, 1935 in Green Camp, Ohio to Ruth Chard & Howard L. Augenstein.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Richard L. Ramsey of Marion; her sister, Judy Presson (Verlin) of Bourbonnais, IL; her three daughters, Carol Chivington (Trish Lackey) of Columbus, Vicki Ramsey of Columbus and Pattie Shirk (Rob) of Marion; and her three granddaughters, Autumn Owdom (Matt), Emily and MacKenzie Shirk. Joyce is also survived by her great friend, Norma Fuller whom she loved “a bushel and a peck.”
A charter member of Fair Park Community Baptist Church since its founding in 1962, Joyce taught Sunday School most of those years, served as Sunday School Superintendent and was an active member of the Coffee Prayer group, American Baptist Women’s Missionary and the church choir.
She worked at Wilson Bohannan Lock Company for 20 years, was a 28-year member of TOPS chapter #137, and also enjoyed being part of the Marion Senior Center line dance group.
Joyce & her husband of 58 years enjoyed traveling, sailing and camping across the country. She was full-of-life, energetic, and lived for her grandchildren. The family is extremely grateful to a dear friend, Mary Scott, along with the team who cared for Joyce. We know her final destination is guaranteed. We know the first face she will see. Praise be to God.
Calling hours will be held at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors at 347 W. Center St. in Marion, Ohio 43302 on Friday, November 22nd from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Fair Park Baptist Church on Saturday, November 23rd at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Green Camp Cemetery.
