Shirley Delores Brown, age 85, of Marion passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 at Presidential Center in Marion.
Shirley was born June 13, 1928 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her mother Evangelist Jessie M. Scott and father Emery Harris.
In 1958 Shirley married Leo Brown and he passed away in 1994. Shirley is survived by nieces and nephews in Maryland and New Jersey.
Shirley was trained as a licensed practical nurse at the University of Maryland. She worked in the labor and delivery area most of her career; however, she also worked in general medicine. She practiced as a LPN at Community Medical Center in Marion where she retired.
Shirley loved people and had many special friends who enjoyed her kindness and sense of humor. Shirley had a tender spot in her heart for children and animals. Shirley loved to paint and draw and participated in various art classes and groups over the years. She also had talent for sewing.
Shirley was a member of St. Mary Church in Marion, OH.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 22, 2013 at St. Mary Church at 10AM with Father Thomas Buffer officiating. Friends may call at 9AM, one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery. Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors are assisting the family with the arrangements. A luncheon will be served at the Knights of Columbus following at burial.
