Derry Lee Bayles, age 72, of Marion, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Riverside Hospital.
Derry was born on June 8, 1941 in Caledonia, OH to the late Robert Lee and Gelia (Spitzer) Bayles.
On December 19, 1992 Derry married Violet Marie Coykendall who survives.
Derry formerly worked for the Eaton Corporation and retired from Sypris. After retirement, Derry worked as a driver for the Marion Senior Center. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Cleveland Browns play football, and woodworking, but his priority in life was always his family.
In addition to Violet, Derry is survived by children, Jennifer (James) DeForest, Rodney Scott, David Scott, Tim Scott, John (Crystal) Scott, Gary (Teresa) Scott, Carolyn (Kevan) Clary, Melissa (Shawn) Williams, and Angela Glass, along with 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, siblings Steve (Beverly) Bayles, Marty (Kathy) Bayles, Connie (Bradley) Miley, and Joyce (Richard) Bennett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Derry was preceded in death by one great-grandchild.
Calling hours will be held Friday, January 3, 2014 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors from 4 until 7PM.
