Gustavus A. “Gus” Blackburn age 78 of Marion, Ohio passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at his residence.
He was born January 9, 1935 in Martin County, Ky., to the late Bill and Gladys (Endicott) Blackburn.
On April 11, 1954 he married Ruth B. (Fitzpatrick).
Gus was retired from Armco Steel in 1981 after 28 years, and was a mamber of Berean Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth B. Blackburn of Marion, Oh., his children, Jim R. Blackburn of Inez, Ky., Donna J. Blackburn of Caledonia, Oh., Joyce A. (Michael) Bright of Marion, Oh., 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and his sister, Margaret Harvey of Az.
He was preceded in death by 4 sisters.
Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 4 – 6 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Gus will be Monday, January 6, 2014 @ 1 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
