Roger D. Beveridge, 83, of Marion

Roger D. Beveridge, age 83, of Marion passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at 10:50 a.m. in the Marion Manor Nursing Home.

He was born on August 13, 1929 in Carbondale, Ohio to Fred H. and Ethel (Six) Beveridge.

Roger married the former Darlene R. Denton in Marion, Ohio on February 12, 1953 and she survives.

He is a member of the Prospect Street United Methodist Church and served in the U.S.Army during the Korean War.

Roger retired in 1989 from the Marion Power Shovel Co. after 39 years of service and then went on to work for 8 years with Wyandot Inc. & 5 years with the Wilson-Bohannan Lock Co.

Surviving along with his wife Darlene are 2 sons; Jeff (Deb) Beverage of Marion, Oh. and Doug (Dawn) Beverage of Hilliard, Oh., a sister; Ilene Saylor of New Marshfield, Oh., and 2 grandchildren; Ryan & Kyle Beveridge.

He was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Howard, Clyde, Gerald, & Paul Eddie Beveridge and 2 sisters; Helen Shingler & Doris Childress.

Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 29th, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Pastor Nancy Goulet will conduct the funeral service in the funeral home on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow in the Glendale Cemetery in Cardington, Oh.

The Beveridge Family would like to extend a special thanks to Primrose Assisted Living, Heartland Hospice, and the staff at Marion Manor Nursing Home for the wonderful care they gave to Roger.
