Steven D. MillerSteven D. Miller, age 59, of Marion, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.

Steven was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on November 29, 1954, the son of Harold W. and Rosalyn Y. (Brown) Miller, Sr.

Steven was a graduate from the Marion Harding High School. He then went onto college and graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor degree of science in business. He retired from Whirlpool after nearly 30 years of service.

Steven accomplished numerous things in his life. He attained Eagle Scout in his youth. He had a Green Thumb when it came to his prized garden. He grew tomatoes, peppers, squash and much more and those around him received the benefits of his efforts. He enjoyed cooking and baking, especially apple pies. He had a talent for woodworking and was a computer guru before most knew what computers were.

Steven was a hunter and fisherman, and especially cherished time in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He cheered on the Cleveland Browns, watched NASCAR and loved OSU football and basketball. He had a great sense of humor and loved the family dog, Shasta.

Of all of Steven’s accomplishments, he was most proud of his two loving daughters, Megan and Laura. He was an amazing father who loved and provided for his girls.

Steven is survived by his daughters Megan (Kevin) Benjamino and Laura (Matt) Brown; his parents Harold W. and Rosalyn Y. Miller, Sr.; brother Harold (Susan) Miller, Jr.; and special friend Perky Shifflet.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center Street, Marion from 4PM to 7PM; Funeral services will be held on Saturday at the funeral home at 2PM; Burial will follow at a later date.
