Dale Edward Collins, age 60, of Marion passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 3:22 p.m. in the Marion General Hospital.
He was born on December 7, 1953 in Marion, Ohio to Alva C. and Eleanor L. (Guseman) Collins. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Hudson, Fl.
Dale was a 1971 graduate of Harding High School. He owned and operated Easy Auto Sales from 1979 until his retirement in 2010.
The lifelong Marion resident is survived by his mother; Eleanor, a daughter; Amy Renee Layne of Mt. Gilead, Oh., 3 brothers; Carl & Bill Collins of Hudson, Fl. and Don Collins of Kentucky, a sister; Cheryl Starcher of Marion, Oh., 2 granddaughters; Kelsey Porretta & Whitney Layne, and a close friend; Rick Jividen of Marion, Oh.
Dale was preceded in death by his father; Alva, a son; Jeremy Dale “J.D.” Collins and a brother; Robert Collins.
Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, from 5-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Tim Miller will officiate and burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery.
