Ivan (John) G. Denes, 62 of Prospect, OH, went to be with The Lord on March 3, 2014. Born July 8, 1951 to Anna (Cope) and Miklos Denes in Valencia, Venezuela, and was a proud veteran of the US Army.
On July 28, 1972 he married the love of his life, Rosalyn (Broady) Denes, daughter of Jess and Betty Broady.
He was an uncomplicated man, if he had his fishing pole in the water he was happy. At the same time, he was profound, a living breathing example of grace, forgiveness, unconditional love, and loyalty. He kept busy helping anyone in need and tinkering with his boat. His presence created quiet strength and comfort for anyone who had the honor of knowing him.
Survived by wife, Rosalyn Denes, two daughters, Dawn (Bobby) Brown and Kimberly (Jamie) Brewbaker, five Grandchildren, Alexis, Elijah, Mason, Luke and Jayden, brother, Miklos Denes, and countless other family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Preceeded in death by mother, Anna Cope, step-father, Elmer Cope, and father, Miklos Denes.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 9th at 1:30 p.m. At Northgate Church, 7097 E. State Route 37, Sunbury, Oh 43074. This is a casual celebration of John’s life, no suits or ties necessary.
In lieu of flowers buy a local fishing license and spend some time with your pole in the water.
