Lois A. Sisia, 82, of Marion

Lois A. SisiaLois A. Sisia passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on March 1, 2014 and is now with her husband and first-born son.  She was born May 3, 1931 to Charles and Celia (Pfleger) Jedlicka.

She met her husband John Sisia, the love of her life, while attending Parsons School of Art and Design in New York City. They were married on May 1, 1954, in New York.

Lois worked at Verizon/GTE, where she started as a draftsman and retired from the Human Resources Department.  She spent many years as a homemaker and mother, raising nine children that completed her perfect family.

Lois will be deeply missed by her children: Joanne Sisia, Charlene (Jeffrey) Peters, Janet (Randy) Knotts, Charles (Kitty) Sisia, Lois Ventura, Andrea (Vaughan) Spencer, Allan (Laurie) Sisia, and Philip (Deneen) Sisia.  She was grandmother to: Shannon (Joe) Pleiman, Jennifer Knotts, Charles (Kendra) Sisia Jr., Philip Sisia Jr., Nicholas Ventura, Tyler (Amanda) Sisia, Jacqueline Peters, Tara (Josiah) Golles, Chanelle Sisia, Megan Peters, A.J. Sisia II, Alexandra Peters, Quinn Sisia, and Andrew Sisia and great-grandmother to  Christopher, Kaleb, Chase, Hannah, Colin, and Audrey.  Special family friends include Keith MacBride, Heather Campbell, and Stephanie Knell.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband John, son John Sisia Jr., and her parents.

The family would like to give special thanks to the caring staff of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 7, 2014 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors from 4 until 8PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Saturday, March 8, 2014 at St. Mary Church, 251 N. Main St., Marion, OH. with Father Thomas Buffer officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, The Spirit of HOPE fund through the Marion General Hospital Foundation, or a charity of your choice.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.gunderhallandfolk.com.
