Richard L. Ramsey, of Marion, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, March 27, 2014.
Richard was born February 10, 1935, in Ramsey, WV to Lewis and Ethel (Hypes) Ramsey who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce A. Ramsey.
He is survived by his sister, Marti Brown of Marion, and three daughters, Carol Chivington (Trish Lackey) and Vicki Ramsey of Columbus, and Pattie Shirk (Rob) of Marion. He is also survived by his three granddaughters Autumn Owdom (Matt), Emily and MacKenzie Shirk, as well as four nephews, Terry, Shawn, and Quinn O’Hare and Spencer Brown. He is also survived by Judy and Verlin Presson of Bourbonnais, IL and their family.
After retiring from the Whirlpool Corporation, he and his wife enjoyed many years of traveling the country, motorcycling, and sailing. An avid motorcycle rider, he enjoyed riding his Harley and listening to Willie Nelson.
As the Highway Men said, “The road goes on forever.”
Private funeral services will be held.
