Carol Mae (Ludwig) Bash, 77, formerly of Green Camp

Carol Mae (Ludwig) BashCarol Mae (Ludwig) Bash, age 77, of Indian Lake and formerly of Green Camp, died peacefully Friday evening, April 25, 2014, at her home.

On February 18, 1937, Carol was born in Columbus, Ohio, the oldest of four children of the late Harry and Beatrice (Wallace) Ludwig.  She graduated from Columbus East High School in the Class of 1955.

In 1967, Carol moved to Green Camp, Ohio, after marrying the love of her life, Roy Bash.  Together they owned and operated Bash Builders, Inc. since 1973, where Roy managed all of the building and Carol managed everything else.

A woman of faith, Carol formerly attended the Green Camp United Methodist Church, and recently attended the Indian Lake Community Church.  She also gave selflessly to the Marion Shrine Club, serving as chairman of their yearly fundraiser for over 10 years, and volunteered with TWIG I, Well Care Baby Clinic, with Marion General Hospital for many years.

For the past 37 years, Carol and Roy have enjoyed spending time at their vacation homes on Indian Lake.  Then in 2004, they made it their permanent home.  They loved boating, and watching the sunset on the Lake.

During their time in Green Camp, every Wednesday they would get together with a very close group of friends.  This group also vacationed together, often taking their motor homes to fun getaways, like NASCAR races and to Michigan to go snowmobiling.

Most important of all to Carol was her family.  She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, and tried to make it every event they participated in.  Such a loving, patient and kind woman, she truly was best wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend you could have ever wanted.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Roy Bash of Indian Lake; she is the proud mother of one daughter, Brenda Carol Hart of Marion; and step-mother to: Penny Lynn (Steve) Krug of New Jersey, and Guy Dwight Bash of Green Camp; 6 beloved grandchildren: Ashley Good, Anthony Good, Nicholas Hart, Katie (Austin) Litteral, Carolynn (Eric) Rossiter, and Rex Ramey, who are the most precious gifts her children ever gave her; four great-grandchildren: Kyleigh and Avah Litteral, and Kaylynn and Isaiah Rossiter; a special brother, Harry R. Ludwig of Reynoldsburg; a sister, Lillian (James) Hahn of Pataskala; one niece and 5 nephews; a brother-in-law, Donald (Vicki) Bash of Marion; and a special cousin, Edna Jacks of Upper Sandusky.

Including her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Errol “Sonny” Ludwig; and two sister-in-laws: Annetta J. Ludwig and Melody Ludwig.

Her family will greet friends from 4 – 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29th, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion.  Services celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, at the Green Camp United Methodist Church, 205 Broadway, Green Camp, with Dustin Hornbeck officiating.  Following a meal at the church, graveside services will be observed at Hueston Cemetery, 16963 County Road 20, Forest, Ohio, at 3:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Marion General Hospital Hospice, 278 Barks Rd. W., Marion, OH 43302.
