Donald G. Edler Sr. age 75 of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday April 15, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born November 4, 1938 in Marion, Ohio to the late John A. and Betty J. (Nusser) Edler Robinson.
On December 5, 1998 in Marion he married Sharon K. Hopkins and she survives.
Donald was retired as a Truck Driver with the Roadway Express Company. He was a fan of Nascar Racing, he loved people, he enjoyed life, and he dearly loved his family.
Besides his wife he leaves behind four daughters and six sons; Donna Kilgor, Teresa (Jim) Crothers, Mark Edler, Bruce (Anna) Edler, Donald (Beth) Edler, Jeffrey (Debbie) Edler, Mary (Travis) Meade, Thomas Edler, Larry Briggs, and Rebecca Jackson, as well as seventeen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren survive. Donald also has two sisters and six brothers surviving; Gert (Wayne) Garver, Kenneth (Linda) Edler, Sterling (Nancy) Edler, John (Emily) Edler, Ted (Melinda) Edler, Debbie (Larry) Popp, Doug (Bev) Edler, R.C. (Jennifer) Edler, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by an infant son, John Ammon, and two brothers; Richard and Timothy.
There will be a Funeral Service for Donald on Saturday April 19, 2014 at 4:30 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Matt Hancock. A Graveside Service will take place at a later date in the Chapel Heights Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home three hours prior to the service on Saturday from 1:30 to 4:30 P.M.
