Guyla Flinchbaugh Bollinger, age 79, of Marion, died Friday afternoon, April 25, 2014, at the Marion General Hospital surrounded by her loving family following an extended illness.
On March 8, 1935, Guyla was born in Marion, Ohio, the daughter of the late Carl and Auta (Roush) Flinchbaugh.
A very dedicated and hard worker, Guyla worked for over 15 years at the Marion County Sherriff’s Department as a cook, until her retirement in 1999.
A woman of faith, Guyla grew up in the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Marion, where she was still a member.
As a family, Guyla and her children loved to go bowling together. She also loved doing crossword puzzles.
She will be dearly missed by her three children: Rick (Judy) Bollinger of Cleveland, Randy Bollinger, and Rhonda Bollinger, both of Marion; 8 grandchildren: Bryan Davis, Chad (Jodi) Davis, Jamie (Dan) Wolfe, Jessica Bollinger, Reid Bollinger, Robin (Scott) Fife, Renea Bollinger, and Bobby Davis; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph (Pat) Flinchbaugh; a sister-in-law, Cathy Flinchbaugh, both of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Including her parents, Guyla was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane McDaniels; two great-granddaughters; one sister: Virginia Gay; a brother, Carol Flinchbaugh; and an infant brother.
Her family will greet friends from 10 – 11 a.m. on Monday, April 28th, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion. Services honoring her life will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Chaplain Joel Fetter officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery.
