Joanne I. Mackay, age 84, of Marion, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Marion General Hospital.
Joanne was born on December 27, 1929 to the late Warren A. and Harriett (Loeffel) Williamson in Erie, PA.
Joanne married Robert Mackay on March 25, 1950 in Pennsylvania; he preceded her in death on January 2, 2008.
Joanne retired from Marion Speech and Hearing Center and was a founder and former owner of Mackay Telephone systems with her late husband and son, Scott.
Joanne was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she enjoyed being a member of the choir and was previously a Cub Scout leader.
Joanne is survived by daughter, Jeanne Mackay-Brewer of Marion; sons, John (Jan) Mackay of Boulder, CO, Scott Mackay (Kelly Byrnes) of Marion, Mike (Velenda) Mackay of Marion, Sam Mackay (Diane Mayne) of Marion; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grand-babies; sister, Jeanie (Charlie) Hall of Tennessee; nieces; and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 8PM at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors on Thursday, April 10, 2014. A funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 930 Harding Memorial Parkway at 11AM on Friday, April 11, 2014 with Pastor Craig Lewis officiating.
