Arthur Lowe, III, age 73.
Native of Washington DC, longtime Ohio resident, Air Force Vietnam veteran and community-engaged leader. Always an entrepreneur, who didn’t shy from a challenge, most recently involved with the Buckeye Lake for Tomorrow Board and the Marion community through the OSU Go Buck$ program to provide educational pathways to first-generation college students, as he once was.
With an engineer’s heart and financier’s mind, Art loved to solve problems and tackle adventures with warmth, tenacity, humor and affection. Fond of new projects and old friends.
Advocate of the underdog. Enjoyed water, travel, a good biography, a feisty debate, the company of friends and family, and good meal of fresh seafood.
Married the love his life, literally the girl next door, who was his partner and companion in all of life’s journeys. Fierce champion of his daughters.
Survived by Ann C (Gowdy) Lowe; daughters Allyson Lowe (Garth Gibson) of Pittsburgh and Marian Lowe (Leslie Fine) of Columbus; brother Roger (Kay) Lowe of Oklahoma, Terry Lowe of Arizona, Eugene Wilke of Maryland, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents Arthur Lowe Jr and Elizabeth Lowe, siblings Marcia Wilke and Douglas Lowe.
Visitation from 12Noon to 2PM on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at the Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 E. Center St., Marion, OH 43302. Celebration of life will follow at 2 PM. Burial, with military honors, will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 1:30PM at Oak Hill Cemetery, 11200 Princeton Pike, Cincinnati, OH.
