Mary Jeannine Jones passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and close friends, May 8, 2014.
Jeannine was born March 23, 1932 to the late Charles and Nellmae (Sampson) Dunn in Hermit, WV.
The family moved to Marion, Ohio where she graduated from St. Mary’s High School, class of 1949, and Columbus Medical Technical School.
For Jeannine, laughter was the best medicine. She saw humor everywhere in life, and had a special talent for helping you find your sense of humor in any circumstance. She loved gardening and her green thumb provided the most beautiful flowers.
In 2002, Jeannine moved to Tempe, AZ to live with her daughter and family where she was a member of the Tempe book club and Red Hats.
She is survived by her daughters, Denise Hoffman and Karen Laboy, son-in-law, Jose Laboy, four grandchildren, Sarah and Bryan Hoffman, Conrad and Madison Laboy and five great-grandchildren, sister, Kay Lamb and sister-in-law Mary Dunn, many nieces, nephews and great friends. She touched all our lives with her whit and sense of humor. She will always remain in our hearts.
Jeannine was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Charles (Buddy) and Caroline Dunn; sister and brother-in-law Shannon and Jim Seiter; brother, James (Jimmy) Dunn; brother-in-law Bud Lamb and nephew Steve Lamb.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 9 a.m.; Funeral Mass 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Marion, Ohio. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
