Naomi Ruth (Mitchell) Turner, age 87, of Marion, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Presidential Center.
Naomi was born April 22, 1927 in Bucyrus, OH to the late Charles and Irene (Miller) Mitchell.
She married James Edward Turner on June 21, 1946, he preceded her in death.
Naomi formerly worked for Fullfillment, Central Christian Church, The Marion Star and retired from Verizon. She enjoyed poetry, dancing, friends, traveling, and sports of all kinds especially OSU basketball and football and the Cincinnati Reds. Naomi and James were also previously Boy Scout Leaders.
Naomi is survived by children, Steven (Linda) Turner of Tucson, AZ and Teri Lynn Turner-Clark of Justin, TX; three grandchildren, Toby (Tuesday) Turner, Dawn (Mike) Morris, and Tracey (Ray) Madden; 8 great-grandchildren, Matt and William Morris, James, Haley, and Kaitlyn Howell, Grant and Jeremiah Turner, and one great-great-grandchild, Spencer Gosnell. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Michelle Cole.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Fairpark Community Baptist Church, 940 Bermuda Drive, at 6PM with Rev. David Rush officiating where friends may call at time of service. A reception will follow.
