Gloria Ann Ruth age 83 of Rutherford, NC., formerly of Marion, Ohio passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at Par Dee Hospital in Hendersonville, NC.
She was born December 15, 1930 in Marion, Ohio to the late Merl and Dorothy (Conkle) Lashey.
On September 20, 1950 she married James Wilson Ruth, he preceded her in death on June 19, 2009.
Gloria was a longtime resident of Marion, Ohio where she was employed with the River Valley Schools as a cook for several years. Now living in North Carolina, she was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Columbus, NC.
She is survived by her children, Jim (Elaine) Ruth Jr. of Galion, OH., Mark (Maribeth) Ruth of Indianapolis, IN., Bob (Barb) Ruth Harrisburg, PA., John (Cathy) Ruth of Columbus, NC., Sandy (Rich) Early of Huntsville, AL., 15 grandchildren, Dan (Molly) Ruth, Matt (Marie) Ruth, Lori Ruth, Brittany (John) Keppler, Katie (Tom) Busby, Marlee Ruth, Libby (Dave) Masagno, Sarah Ruth, Bobby Ruth, Rachel (Alex) Santos, Michelle Early, Jason Early, Lindsey (Ethan) Edwards, JP Ruth, Blair Ruth, 8 great grandchildren, Leyla Kay Ruth, Kenzie Ruth, Zoe Ruth, Grant Ruth, Natalie Ruth, Makenzie Ruth, Millie Mae Edwards and Alysia Santos, her brother, Merl Lashey of Prospect, OH., and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Lashey.
Visitation for Gloria will be held Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 12 – 3 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home, 122 W. Columbia St. Marion, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 4 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Walter officiating. A private family service will be held Monday, June 30, 2014 at Claridon Cemetery.
