John R. Vanderhoff age 76 of Marion passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
Born November 22, 1937 in Marion to the late Ray and Ruth (Martin) Vanderhoff.
John worked for Werley Vending Company and also worked security at Eaton Corporation. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. John was a member of St. Mary Church and a member of the Senior Citizens Center.
On August 31, 1961 John married Carol L. (Chapman) Vanderhoff and she survives.
Also Surviving are three sons Theodore “Ted” William Vanderhoff of Waldo, Ray Louis Vanderhoff of Marion, David Anthony Vanderhoff of Reynoldsburg, eight grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter Cathy Ann Vanderhoff, two sisters, Mary Catherine Smith and Sister Ruth Vanderhoff.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 at St. Mary Church with Father Michael Nimocks presiding. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery with Marion County United Veterans Council conducting Military Honors.
