Mary E. Blankenship, age 83, of Marion passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at 7:34 p.m. in the Fairhaven Community, Upper Sandusky, Ohio.
She was born on August 1, 1930 in Radnor, Ohio to Ross Taylor and Kathryn Elizabeth (Eckles) Gray.
On March 6, 1948, she married Charles William Blankenship Jr. in Delaware, Ohio and he preceded her in death on September 26, 1966 in Marion.
Mary was a member of the White Shrine and past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star.
During her working career, Mary was employed for a short time at the B.F.Goodrich Co. and went on to retire in 1994 from the Marion Power Shovel Co. after 18 years of service there.
She is survived by a son; Thomas (Pamela) Blankenship of Cardington, Oh., 3 daughters; Linda (Mark) Edington of New Bloomington, Oh, Rita Long of Marion, Oh., & Sandra (Douglas) Roszman of Marion, Oh., a sister; Jewell Taylor of Marion, Oh., 9 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Charles of 18 years, 2 brothers; Rick & Glen Gray, and 2 sisters; Gladys Barger & Darlene Vaughn.
Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Sunday, June 15, 2014, from 4-7 p.m. Pastor Ben Shaeffer will conduct the funeral service in the funeral home on Monday at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow in the Green Camp Cemetery.
