Norma Jane Walker, age 90, of Marion passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at 6:15 a.m. in the Marion General Hospital.
She was born in Marion, Ohio to the late Harold and Rosetta (Clark) Altenberger on November 4, 1923.
Norma was a 1941 graduate of Harding High School and a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church. The lifelong Marion resident was employed for 17 years at the May’s Jewelry Store and went on to work as a secretary for the Marion City Schools for 16 years before retiring in 1987.
She is survived by a daughter; Sue (Tom) Beightler of Marion, Oh., 4 grandchildren; Scott Walker, Angela Walker-Bevilacqua, Jason Beightler, & Jonathan Beightler along with several nieces & nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 46 years, a son; Gregory Walker, and 2 sisters; June Coen & Mary Lou Preissler.
No calling hours will be observed. A graveside service will be conducted by A.I.M. Kevin Kehn on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. in the Marion Cemetery.
