Tommy K. Canter age 65 of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday June 24, 2014 at the OSU Wexner Medical Center Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born August 30, 1948 in Paintsville, Ky., to Herbert Ray Canter and Hazel (Gamble) Jackson. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives and lives in Marion, Ohio. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Richard Jackson.
Tommy was retired as an electrician after thirty-four years with the Eaton Corporation. He was a man who really loved computers, a real computer bug. He also was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
Tommy leaves behind his mother as well as three daughters; Shelley (Vincent) Shroats of Marion, Ohio, Aurora (Josh) Lewis, and Jackalyn (Patrick) Colpitts, both of Chattanooga, Tn. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Besides his father and step-father, Tommy was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Ray Canter, Jr.
There will be a Graveside Service with burial to follow on Monday June 30, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Rev. Dwight Hord. There will also be Military Rites by the Marion County United Veterans Council. Calling Hours will not be observed.
