Emelie L. Markl, age 70, of Marion, passed away on July 3, 2014 at her home.
She was born on April 17, 1944 to the late Emery Arthur and Ethel Mae (Porter) Schuring in Chicago, IL.
Emelie was retired as an English teacher. She was also an RN. She was a night owl and loved working the night shift in her nursing employments.
She loved all things history, especially family history. Emelie was an elegant and gentle lady, and her biggest enjoyment was family gatherings.
Besides her parents, Emelie was preceded in death by her sister, Darlene McDonald. She is survived by her brother, Pastor Mark (Dianne) Schuring of Marion, her niece, Bethany (Doug) Nichols and son Landen, of Buter, PA, and her nephew, David Schuring, of Marion, as well as other nieces and a nephew.
A memorial service will be held for Emelie on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Emanuel Lutheran Church at 11 AM. A.I.M. Kevin Kehn will preside.
