Evelee Cowgill, age 81, of Marion passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014, at 9:50 p.m. in the Dewolfe House, Marion.
She was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky on April 9, 1933 to the late Watson G. and Sallie (Brown} Cornett.
In addition to her parents, Evelee was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years; Robert R. “Bob” Cowgill, 2 brothers; Burchel & John B. Cornett, and 2 sisters; Eulice Hampton & Loretta Cornett.
Evelee was employed as a bookkeeper for Sears downtown store in Marion for several years and after that, she was employed by Hummel’s IGA Foodliner Inc. for 15 years from which she retired in 1988.
She is survived by 5 nieces; Darleen Davenport, Patricia (Gregg) Swain, Henrietta (Dane) Rengert, Eulice Dollinger, & Audrey (Dave) Evans, and 3 nephews; James (Brenda) Cornett, Clyde (Jennifer) Hampton, & Carl (Arzella) Hampton.
Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Friday, July 25, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Friday. Pastor Keith Irey will be officiating and burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery.
