Raymond E. Miller, age 85, of Marion, died Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Kindred Community Nursing Center.
Ray was born October 31, 1928 in Lee City, KY to the late Carl and Rhoda (Dunn) Miller.
His first wife Donna Caster preceded him in death in 1982. In 1983 he married Garnett L. Columbus who survives.
He served in the US Army during WWII, prior to over 35 years employment at Marion Power Shovel-Dresser.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Karen Sue Kromberg of Geneva, IN, Helen Ann Palacious of Orlando, FL, Sandra Kay Chick of Covington, KY; two sons, Michael Ray Miller of Covington, KY, Wendel Dale (Doris) Miller of Vinton County, Ohio; stepson, Phillip R. (Sharon) Tackett of Delaware, OH; four sisters, Patty (Dan) Brinkley of Circleville, OH, Elma Dorsey of Circleville, Gail Sims of Circleville, Everly Sims of FL, 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Two sons, Fredrick J. and Wayne M. Miller; 1 daughter, Connie Lou Chick, 1 sister, Igerine DeBord; and one brother, Dave Miller are deceased.
Ray was a member of Victory Center Church, enjoyed fishing, baseball, motorcycles, jogging and his dog, Buddy.
Friends may call Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 5 until 8PM at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors, where funeral services will be held Friday, August 1, 2014 at 10AM with Rev. Donald Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery. Marion County United Veterans Services will be conducted at the grave.
