Charles D. Fetter, 89, of Marion

Charles D. Fetter of Primrose Retirement Community entered his Heavenly home surrounded by family on August 26, 2014 at 5:50 P.M.

He was born November 8, 1924 to the late Fredrick D. and Mlidred H. Johnson Fetter.

He was married to Garnet L. Smith on January 12, 1947 at Emanuel Lutheran Church by Dr. M. E. Hollenson. She preceded him in death on December 14, 2010.

He is survived by a son, Thomas (Diane) Fetter, daughter in law Cheryl Fetter, grandchildren; Tabitha (Ryan) Cook, Gayle (Bryson Chambers) Fetter, and Abbey (David) White. Great grandchildren include Noah Cook, Hannah Cook, and Adley Haines. A son, Jerrold Fetter and grandson, Torrey Fetter preceded him in death in 2007 and 2002 respectively.

Being the eldest of 5 children, he is survived by two sisters, Helen Hill of Port St Lucie, Fl. and Dorothy (Jerry) Emery of Delaware, Ohio. Two Brothers preceded him in death, F. LeRoy Fetter and Richard E. Fetter. He is also survived by two sisters in law, T.Jane Fetter and Winifred Fetter, both of Marion, plus many nieces and nephews.

Charles retired from Ag Chem/Morral Companies in 1986 after working for those companies for 21 years. He previously was custodian at Morral School for 10 years.

He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, and was a member of the Pythian Lodge for over 55 years as well as a Salt Rock Township Trustee for over 25 years. He liked to play golf, play cards at different senior centers and visit with his friends at McDonalds.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday August 30, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Emanuel Lutheran Church. Officiating the service will be Pastor Mark Schuring. Burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery. Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Friday August 29, 2014 from 5 to 8 P.M.
