Dan Christman, 66 of Marion went to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 17, 2014 at home surrounded by his family.
Born Dec. 19, 1947, in Mansfield, Ohio to Willard Christman and Betty (Whitmer) Mills and raised by the man he called Dad, Pat Mills.
On June 14, 1975 he married the love of his life, Paulette (Packer) Christman, and she survives.
Also surviving are his son Bobby (Amy) Christman, his daughter Shanon (Rick) (Christman) Lindsey, all of Marion. His beloved grandchildren, Cody Christman of West Palm Beach, and Aubree & Emma Christman of Marion. Dan’s brother and sister include, Chuck (Karyn) Christman, Bill (Mary) Christman, all of Galion, Joy (Ray) Vanzant of Delaware, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Shawn Cochran, brother Mike Christman, nephew Randy Christman, parents, Pat & Betty Mills, and father Willard Christman.
Dan had various jobs throughout the years, meat cutter, business owner, but his true love was when he began his career at Gold Star Ambulance, which later was known as Rural Metro. That became his dream job, helping others.
He had a heart of gold and felt the need to always make a difference. He never knew a stranger and would take the shirt off his back for someone else. A selfless man. He was a huge Ohio State fan, but his love for golf was like no other. So we know he is up there with his good ole buddies & his dad playing 18 holes right now.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors.
