Emerson C. Stone age 78 of Morral passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014 at his residence.
Emerson was preceded in death by his wife Joyce V. (Mustard) Stone who passed away September 11, 2006.
He had four children, Robert R. Stone of Alabama, Kim A. (Denver) Piatt of Forest, Ohio, Linda C. (David) Beecham of Upper Sandusky, Lucy (Pete) Penwell of Upper Sandusky. Mr. Stone also had two stepchildren, Jim (Darlene) Jones of Mechanicsburg, Ohio, and Julie (Chris) Jones of Bucyrus. He had eight grandchildren, twenty five great-grandchildren, two step- grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Stone served in the U.S. Airforce 614th F+R Bomber Squadron. He was a Korean War Veteran Stationed in Aviano, Italy. Mr. Stone worked on airplanes and worked on the Saturn 4 in the Airforce. He was also stationed in Phyle, Greenland where he tested and repaired Equipment for the radars.
Mr. Stone then worked for GTE in Athens, Ohio, the later GTE in Marion. Mr. Stone was a instructor for MTC and retired from GTE in 1992.
He enjoyed his dog Pepper and working in his garage building things. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting , and going to auctions. He also enjoyed going to the game rooms in Upper Sandusky and Marion. He was a very good electronic repairman and enjoyed woodworking. Emerson was a member of The AMVETS and The American Legion in Upper Sandusky and Marion.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors, Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday August 29, 2014 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors with Rev. J.C. Church presiding. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery.
