Gregory F. Walters, age 49, of Marion, died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at home surrounded by his family.
Gregory was born August 13, 2014 in Marion, Ohio to Larry and Kay (Murphy) Walters.
Gregory graduated from Ridgedale High School in 1982 and then joined the US Navy. During his Navy career, he toured the world as a boiler technician and was an instructor for A-School and Water Chemistry at Great Lakes.
After his honorable discharge in 1991, he worked for Arrow Builders and later started his own companies, Buckeye State Remolding in Ohio and Volunteer State Construction in Tennessee.
Gregory enjoyed cars of all kinds. He enjoyed drag racing, street cars, and hot rods. He was currently working on a ’67 Firebird.
Gregory is survived by his parents, Larry and Kay Walters; daughters, Molly Walters and Lyndsey (Corey) Peach both of TN; grandchildren, Draco Broach and Dorian Peach; brother, Vince Walters; nephew, Eric (Abbey) Walters; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be Monday, August 4, 2014 from 5 until 8PM at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors with Parish Prayers at 5PM. A 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at St. Mary Church with Father Thomas
Buffer presiding. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery where Military Honors will be observed by Marion County United Veterans.
