Elton A, Timmons, age 85, of Marion, died Friday, September 19, 2014 at his home. On July 29, 1929 in Kenton, OH, Elton was the seventh child born to the late Pearl and Maybelle (Woodard) Timmons.
He served in the Korean Conflict. Worked for Commercial Steel, drove a truck for Wenham, and worked at VanAtta Supply from 1964 – 2012.
Elton is survived by his wife of 61 years, Georgia Ann (Dye) Timmons, two daughters and their husbands: Mark and Connie Timmons-Kraner of Marion, OH and Dave and Cindy Gladwell of Barboursville, WV, four grandsons: Jeremiah, Brooks, Jordan, and Drew, two granddaughters: Angelique and Nikki, four great-grandsons: Brendon, Quinton, Mitchell, and Malachi, and one great-granddaughter: Emma, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elton was preceded in death by his parents Pearl and Maybelle, and nine siblings: Katherine, John, Susan, Bob, Pearl, Mae, Betty, Rilla, and June.
Elton’s greatest loves were The Lord and his large extended family.
Visitation will be held at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 10AM until time of service at 12 noon. Pastor Dave Gladwell will officiate and burial will follow at Marion Cemetery.
