Helen Louise Cox, age 81, of Marion passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at 1:10 a.m. in the Kindredcare Health Care Center.
She was born on July 3, 1933 in Scioto County to Joseph and Bertha (Henson) Childers.
Helen married Clarence Cox on December 1, 1953 in Jeffersonville, Indiana and he survives.
She attended the Tyler Street Mission.
The lifelong homemaker is survived by 1 son; James Michael Cox of Marion, 2 daughters; Velma Hughes & Cheryl (Dan) Miller both of Marion, 1 brother; Raymond Childers of Oak Hill, Oh., 3 sisters; JoAnn Garrett of Granbury, Tx., Maxine Harrison of Newport News, Va., & Della Mae French of Marion, 7 grandchildren; Rachel Young, Julie (Wade) Huffine, Latisha (Tommy) Hale, James (Jen) Cox II, Cassandra Cox, Michelle Miller, & Danielle (Tyler) Miller, 7 great grandchildren; Brittany Griffith, Thomas Hale, Hayden Cox, Arianna Cox, Landon Miller, Payson Gay, & Amyika Wellman-Miller, and 1 great great grandchildren; Aliyah Griffith.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, 1 great grandchild; Joseph Hale, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. Rev. Ed Layne will conduct the funeral service on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens. A wake following the funeral will be held at the home of Velma Hughes, 634 Davids St., Marion.
