Born December 20, 1931, in Clearfield, PA., she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Verba Thomas Cleaver.
Peggy enjoyed a life full of love and adventure. After raising her own children, she became a full-time nanny enhancing the lives of the Don Boeke family, Craig and Jane Gudakunst family, and Paul and Joni Kolodzik family.
She was always ready for fun including hiking, camping, and fishing and would pack-up her pup tent by herself occasionally and head out! She enjoyed crocheting afghans and dollies sharing many of them with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter; Catherine Jean Gornor, a son; Kenneth Ralph Gornor, and her brother; Max Cleaver. She is survived by sons; Herbert (Angela) Gornor of Pearl River, LA. and Edwin M. Gornor of Picayune, MI., a daughter; Doris (Rick) Beatty of McArthur, OH., stepson; James (Jamie) Gornor of of Pearl River, LA. and stepdaughter; Donna Lynn of Cleveland, TN., sisters; Bonnie Cleaver of Hobe Sound, FL., Ralphine (Marlin) Crock of Shamokin Dam, PA., Charlotte Tressler of Bellefont, PA., Shirley (Eddie) Lucas of Howard, PA., 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and step grandchildren & step great grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Peggy attended Heritage Bible Church for many years in Marion, Ohio. Her simple faith and love of Jesus was reflected throughout her life. She truly was a loving mother and faith friend…one who simply “loved”. While we miss her dearly, we are so very thankful that she has finally reached her heavenly home.
Friends may call at the Heritage Bible Church on Friday, September 5, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Rev. John Burroughs will conduct the funeral service in the church at 1:00 p.m. with burial to follow in the Marion Cemetery.
