Brenda J. Wagner, 65, of Marion

Brenda J. WagnerBrenda J. Wagner, age 65, of Marion, died Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Marion General Hospital.

Brenda was born on December 29, 1948 in Bypro, KY to the late Jesse and Geneva (Williams) Breeding.

She graduated from Marion Catholic High School and later earned an Associate degree in Business Administration.

Brenda had a lifelong commitment to the Marion Community.  She has been on the Marion City Board of Health since February 13, 1985, on the Marion Veterans Board since the conception in 1982, past manager of the VFW 3313 for 13 years, and the past District 10 President of the VFW.  Brenda currently worked as Director of Administration, for her family’s business, Onsite ATS.   Brenda was a dedicated member of American Legion 584, Moose, Eagles, Elks and The VFW Post 3313 — where she was a devoted life member of the Women’s Auxiliary.

Brenda is survived by her beloved life partner and best friend of almost two decades, Ben Higgins, of Marion; children: Jennifer (John) Yeoman of Harpster, OH, and Jeffrey (Wendy) Adams, of Marion, OH; grandchildren: Courtney (Keith) Danner, Casey (Andrew) Yeats, Niki (Anthony) Gaither, Hanna Yeoman, and Jesse and Riley Adams; great-grandchild, Collin Yeats; and lifelong friend, Carol Miller.

Brenda was a giving person, she would always help others. She loved cooking, reading, and Sunday adventures with Ben.  She always put God first in her life; family came second, followed by community and charity.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 4 until 8PM at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors.  A funeral service will be held Friday, October 17, 2014 at St. Mary Church at 1PM with Deacon Dwight Larcomb officiating.  Burial will follow at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.

Donations may be made to the Marion Veterans’ Park.  A special thank you to American Legion 162 who will be hosting a reception after the service along with the help of American Legion 584 and The VFW 7201.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.gunderhallandfolk.com.
