Jerry J. Thomas, age 78, of Marion passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at 5:04 p.m. in the Marion General Hospital.
He was born on May 19, 1936 in Bucyrus, Ohio to the late Lester and Dortha (Clady) Thomas.
Jerry was a 1956 graduate of Harding High School and went on to spend 6 years in the U.S. Navy and the Naval Reserve.
He was a member of Moose Lodge 889 and the Northside Bass Masters of Indian Lake. He truly enjoyed the out-of-doors, fishing and hunting when ever he had the chance.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Alisa M. (Neeson) Thomas, whom he married in Kenton, Ohio on December 20, 1959.
He was employed as a machine operator for 15 years with Tecumseh Products until their closing and went on to work for 13 years at Union Tank Car until retiring in 1998.
Surviving along with his wife, Alisa, are a son; Jon Michael (Sherry) Thomas of Marion, Oh., a daughter; Ann R. (Forest) Tennar of Marion, Oh., and 5 grandchildren; Keagen, Avry, & Brody Thomas, Tristen & Tessa Tennar.
Jerry was preceded in death by a brother; William Thomas and a sister; Judith Lowry.
No visiting hours will be observed and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
