Frances Vornholt Wearn, age 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, surrounded by loved ones in Marion.
Fran was born on March 5, 1923, in East Orange, NJ, to Francis (Frank) and Bernice Denninger. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University where she was active with the Pi Beta Phi sorority.
An active member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Fran also loved golfing, playing Bridge, cheering on the Buckeyes, traveling and spending time in Tucson, AZ, and Hilton Head, SC.
Fran is survived by her husband Robert D. (Doug) Wearn of Marion; her three sons: John Vornholt of Tucson, AZ; Richard Vornholt of Sandy Springs, GA; and William Vornholt of Marion, OH; her sister Betty Guernsey and niece Mary Guernsey, both of Wake Forest, NC; and five grandchildren: Hayley, Sarah, Anna, Eric and Piper.
Predeceasing her is Dr. John (Jack) B. Vornholt, her husband of 51 years, and a brother John (Jack) Denninger.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Epworth United Methodist Church, 249 E. Center St., Marion at 10:30AM with Rev. David Hoffman officiating; Friends may call at the church from 9:30AM until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider contributions to Salvation Army or the Marion Food Bank.
