George F. “Frank” Meyers, age 67, of Mount Gilead, died Tuesday morning, November 25, 2014, at Heartland of Marion following a brief illness.
On July 9, 1947, Frank was born in Ironton, OH, the son of the late George A. and Marcella (Jones) Meyers. He graduated from Ironton High School and later in life received his Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering from NCTC in Mansfield.
A Vietnam veteran, Frank proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
On June 15, 1974, Frank married Sherry Stacy in Perrysville, OH. They shared 40 special years together, raising two children along the way.
Throughout the years, he worked as a machinist for many different companies.
Frank enjoyed working in the basement on his stained glass projects. He sold some of his art at the Crafter’s Coop booth at the Marion Centre Mall. He also liked working in his yard and tending to his garden. His weekends were spent cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns.
Frank was a family man and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and was always joking around. He was an all around good guy.
Frank will be dearly missed by his wife, Sherry, of Mount Gilead; his two children: Shanna (Chris) Supplee of East Liverpool, OH, Anthony Meyers of Detroit, MI; and five grandchildren: Elaina, Ethan, Reed, RiLee, and Zeke.
