Nora Ferrell, 92, of Mt. Gilead, OH, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Stow-Glen Retirement Village in Stow, OH.
Born in Willow Tree, KY on October 9, 1922, she moved to Mt. Gilead in the mid 1960s where she and her husband Edmond (Woodie) were the former owners of Ferrell’s Citgo Service Station. Nora retired from Arundale Plastics in 1987 after 19 years of service. She devoted herself to her husband, children, grandchildren and friends. Family and friends gathered at her home on Sunday afternoons to enjoy her many wonderful dinners.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edmond Ferrell; brothers Woodrow, Harry, Belvie, Clyde and E. Howard; sisters Dorothy, Lois, Edith and Emma and parents Edgar and Florence Sharp.
She is survived by daughter Patricia Ann (Guy) Hannah of Hudson, OH; son Ronald Edmond (Kathleen) Ferrell of Naples, FL; grandsons Michael Aladich (Jacqueline) of Columbus, NJ, Steven Aladich (Michelle) of Green, OH, Matthew (Elizabeth) Lewis of Ashland, OH; granddaughter Heather Lewis of Mansfield, OH and eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson. She is also survived by her sister Phyllis Aull of Owensboro, KY; brother Wayne Sharp of Louisville, KY and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nora’s family will greet friends from 2 -4 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2014, at Snyder Funeral Home, 76 S. Main St., Mount Gilead. Services celebrating her life will be held there at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2014, with Pastor Barry Long of Fresh Faith Community Church officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Park in Lexington, OH.
