James F. Crawford, age 73, of Marion, OH passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Riverside Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Marion, OH on December 29, 1940 to the late James V. and Iva B. Crawford.
He married Marvena M. Hawkins on November 11, 1966 and she survives.
He is also survived by three children, daughters, Carla (Garry) Williamson of Marion, and Tonia (Mike) Simmons of Marion; son, Steve (Jill) Crawford of La Rue; eight grandchildren, Johnathan (Megan) Hoffman of Sunbury, Kaylee Williamson of Columbus, Tiffany (James) Dudkiewiez of Michigan, Dustin Crawford of West Virginia, Jacob Hoffman of Marion, Jamie Crawford of Marion, Skyann Cunningham of Marion, Jacob Cunningham of Marion; five great-grandchildren, and one sister, Barb Pierce of Dayton. He was preceded in death by one brother, John Crawford.
He graduated from Harding High School in 1959 and retired from the City of Marion after 30 years in 1997. He enjoyed camping, home improvement projects, spending time with his wife, family, and his two dogs, Jake and Eddie.
Calling hours will be held from 2 until 5PM Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held 10:30AM Monday, December 1, 2014 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors with Chaplain Doug Ford. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery.
