Ronald D. Lane, age 67, of Marion, was gently lifted into God’s loving arms on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
He was born on October 12, 1947 in Marion, OH to Eugene Lane and Joan (Fox) Lane-Earhart.
Ronald married Lynn Housekeeper on August 29, 1981; she survives.
He proudly served his country during The Vietnam War as a Chaplain’s Assistant in the US Army. Ronald worked for over 25 years at Fairfield Engineering in payroll and support and later retired from The Marion Area Counseling Center after working in their administration department.
Ron never met a stranger and loved life. He was ultimately an inspiration to all those he met, especially after going through several personal hurdles.
He was a devoted husband to Lynn Lane for 33 years, a proud and loving dad to Faber (Randy) Banks of Marion; and even prouder Pappaw of his young grandsons, Parker and Kayson.
Also left to cherish his memory are his mother, Joan Earhart; sister, Sue (Michael) Jordan of Marion; niece, Tina (Matt) Taylor of Lakeview; great nephew, Wes (Melissa) Kennedy of Westerville; great-niece, Thea Kennedy of New Albany; and his very cute little lap buddy, Missie Mae.
He was predeceased by nephew, Jeff Ryan Jordan; father, Eugene Lane; and step father, Troy Earhart.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 22, 2014 from 5 until 8PM at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors where funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 10:30AM with Pastor Harley Roston officiating. Burial will follow at Price Cemetery.
