Rosa Lee Henderson-Scales-Davis, 81, of Marion

An angel was born to the proud parents of James and Willie May Flewellen, (Doug Williams). Rosa Lee Henderson-Scales-Davis was born on a crisp cool morning of October 24th, 1933 in Columbus, Georgia. She was raised by her beloved grandmother, Laura Henderson-Lewis and her uncle, William Henderson. The above mentioned love-ones are all preceded Rosa Davis in death.

Sister Davis was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church here in Marion. Mother served on the Georgia Peach Committee and also worked in the Kitchen at the church.

Rosa Davis worked for the Marion City Schools as a custodian until she retired. Mother Davis was also a former-foster care provider in Marion.

Rosa Davis and her late beloved husband, Charles Davis both ran a great bait shop in Marion.

Mother was blessed to have been married to the late great-wonderful husband and father, Charles Davis of 32 years. Charlie Davis my dad; preceded my mother in death.

Rosa Lee Davis is preceded in death by: two aunts, two uncles, and a grandchild. My mother leaves behind two children: Daniel J. Scales, and her loving daughter, Lisa Scales who will miss her mother a great deal, a step son, Claude Flewellen of Marion, (a special best sister-friend, Mrs. Janell Owens) who had stuck closer to her then just a sister-friend, host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

My mother was my queen and a strong woman of faith.  Mother’s last hours here on this earth was a true test of her faith may she rest in peace and know that she wil be forever missed.  We will always love you: (aka) Mrs. Rosa, Mrs. Davis, Rosa, Rosalee, Auntie, Mom, Mommie, Snookie-Snook, Queen, but the most important title:  Mother & Wife.

Mother is resting at Boyd-Born Funeral Home, 122 West Columbia Street, Marion, Ohio 43302, (740) 382-2115.  Calling hours for Rosa Lee Davis will be held on December 26th, 2014; from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Boyd-Born Funeral Home.  Following the calling hours there will be appetizers served in the conference room at Best Western Hotel (in front of Meijers).

Boyd-Born Funeral Home will also be hosting Mother’s Home Going Services starting at 9:00a.m.  Elder Franklin O’Bryant will be giving Mother’s Eulogy.  Mother will be transported to Marion Cemetery where she will be laid to her finally resting place.

The family dinner will be served after this committal service at King Temple Church, located at 267 Senate Street, Marion, Ohio 43302.
