Ruth Anne Bowie, 75, of Marion

Ruth Anne Bowie, age 75, of Marion passed away late Tuesday afternoon at Kindred Healthcare Center.

Born in Gary, Indiana on January 2, 1939 to Ora and Marie (Love) Huffman, she married Robert Bowie on May 25, 1957 and he survives at home.

Ruth was a member of Berean Baptist Church and was known for her abilities as a seamstress operating A Stitch-N-Time.

Also surviving are her daughter; Robin (David) Jones, her sister; Lois (James) Mills, her brother; Joseph (Venieta) Huffman and 4 grandchildren; Jessica, Crystal, Erin and David Jr.

Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 PM at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home. A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held Monday at 10:30 AM at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home with Pastors Charles Reed and Chris Piera officiating. Burial will be in the Calumet Park Cemetery in Merriville, Indiana.
