Violet V. Gardner, age 88, of Marion passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014, at 11:46 a.m. in the Heartland of Marion.
She was born on April 7, 1926 in Marion, Ohio to the late Lily Ruth Gardner Kinnamon.
Violet was employed as a waitress in various restaurants throughout Marion before her retirement.
The lifelong Marion resident is survived by 2 sons; Alan Wayne (Terri) Gardner of Marion, Oh. & Vincent Ray (Chris) Gardner of Bucyrus, Oh., 4 sisters; Mickey Mertz of Scanectiny, N.Y., Myrtle Hartsook of Westerville, Oh., Sandra Kinnamon of Easton, Md., & Linda Sue Moore of London, Ky., 5 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1 son; Bruce Douglas Gardner, 2 brothers; Richard LeRoy Kinnamon & Hugh M. Kinnamon, and 1 great grandson.
Friends may call at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home on Monday, December 29, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. Monday. Pastor Glory Geib will be officiating and burial will follow in the Marion Cemetery.
