Allan T. VanMeter, age 70, of Marion, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 in Marion.
Allan was born on October 24, 1944 in Marion, the son of Jabbo Poorman and Opal May (Sabins) VanMeter. He graduated from Harding High School and spent his career working for Anchor Swan Corporation.
Allan is survived by his sons: Robin (Rebecca) VanMeter and Shawn VanMeter; grandchildren: Marshall, Kyle, Cobretti, Blade and Kiera; and great grandchild Jaylynn.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Gloria VanMeter and Mary Martha Landis.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home, 360 East Center St., Marion from 5PM to 7PM; Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1PM; Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
